The Supplements I Take
Along with acting, modeling, and creating a fitness brand, my other mission is to learn and educate others on holistic health. The fascination started when one of my parents friends cured themselves naturally of cancer by eating alkaline (basically just vegetables). No doctor will tell you that the food you eat is what determines the chemical makeup of your body. You have to do this research on your own. After hearing this story I ended up going vegan, (which as someone who loved chicken, it seemed impossible.) I made a promise to share with my audience and fans everything I learn and implement to get this information more popular and to give people hope, empowerment and knowledge about how your body works. I am going to be doing one blog post day that is intended to help you improve yourself.
Supplements give you extra power and immunity, but they have to be paired with a healthy diet. I listed the ones I am currently taking and my favorite benefits. Each supplement has a bunch of additional benefits, so make sure to search it on Google to see the full spectrum of amazing benefits.
I got all of the supplements at either Whole Foods or GNC. You can also search and find them all on Amazon.
Ashwagandha: I saw this in Leeor Alexandra’s new supplement video and was turned on by the benefits: balancing hormones, treating anxiety, reducing stress, fights and blocks cancer cells from forming, boosts mood, enhances energy, aphrodisiac. This supplement is used with ADHD and ADD, which I have.
*2 tablets daily
Chlorophyll: Alkalizes your body. I am OBSESSED with alkaline diet and food. Chlorophyll is basically plant blood and is a super green food. I put it into my water everyday and even got my friends hooked on this. This is great to add to your water during the winter because it is super hydrating. No dry skin over here. Benefits: boosts immune system, gets rid of waste in the body, prevents aging, antioxidant rich, makes your cells super healthy, reduces fatigue, prevents cancer, gives glowing skin, hydrates the body, increases oxygen, alkalizes the body, prevents inflammation, anemia. Foods with chlorophyll: green leafy veggies, romaine lettuce, broccoli, wheatgrass juice, spinach, chlorella, spirulina.
*Daily, liquid form. Add it to water. Has no taste.
Probiotic: Everyone and every age person should be taking a probiotic! They clean your stomach, improves skin, boosts immune system dramatically, gets rid of depression and anxiety, prevents cancer, promotes healthy bowel function, weight loss, fights inflammation. Think of it as a vitamin for your gut.
*1 tablet daily
Vitamin D: important for bone health, anemia, muscles, prevents cancer, lowers inflammation, regulates genes, reverse depression, lower blood pressure, optimize body weight, prevents heart attack and heart disease, prevents diabetes, healthy teeth. Over 200 diseases are linked to vitamin D deficiency. The best source of vitamin D is the sun (only need 10-20 minutes of it a day!). I just started taking this today but I am so glad I researched this one!
Vitamin A: I found out about Vitamin A through a beauty blogger. This supplement is packed with ingredients that keep your skin looking like a baby. Retinol (a powerful and proven skin product) is made up of mainly Vitamin A. It promotes eyesight, promotes immune system health, fights inflammation, supports skin and cell growth, increases collagen production, prevents aging, reduces acne, promotes healthy hair, prevents cancer.
*1 tablet daily
Maca Root: I have been putting maca root powder in my smoothies and saw incredible benefits: my skin became super smooth, and my period regulated. I feel like it balances my hormones. It increases libido and fertility, increases energy and stamina, smooths out skin and promotes healthy skin, antioxidants.
*2 tablets daily
*Also can buy Maca powder at Whole Foods and put into your smoothies, oatmeal, etc.
Turmeric: A spicey and powerful anti inflammatory superfood, reduces body fat, speeds metabolism, prevents cancer, prevents against UVA damage, creates younger looking skin, prevents Alzheimers, promotes brain health, alleviates seasonal allergies (YES!)
I put this in all of my juices because I like the spice, I also get turmeric salad dressing at Trader Joes. You can also put the powder version on grilled veggies. I have a turmeric lemonade recipe in my Ab book!
*Daily, take tablets or powder form.
BEAUTY: I also take Olly vitamins for skin- these really do work for me and I can tell if I stop taking them. Hair skin and nails vitamins are also a must, I have the strongest nails and hair thanks to this, so I consider this a must-buy.
I recommend looking up the benefits of all of these supplements + more. The main reason is, our. body is mind over matter, which is why placebo’s work. If you believe the benefits are true, they will show themselves to be true in your life (even though these are all evidence backed) I think it is super exciting and important to remember the mind body connection. If you got excited reading about any of the benefits, then that supplement will work for you.
